In the Participatory Design Workshop we presented  to other people our design brief an the prototype design.
We received interesting proposals such as: placing a suggestion box, lock the shelves ...(this proposals and more on our Design Brief 4)
And a new innovation that would be most beneficial would be to create a virtual library (described on our Design Brief 3)

With these pictures we want to show the idea we have of the new library for the moment. After our first prototype we reached the conclusion that we would like the library to be a place with natural light and large windows, where projects can be made but also a pace to study, to query things on the internet or just develop a taste for reading

Viability, mesurements and pictures

Viability:
We believe that our reform of the library is quite viable since we have realized that there is no need to enlarge it and with some renovations of the furniture and a good organization would be sufficient. We have raised potential problems when it comes to carry out some renovations but actually there are very few: the possibility that the windows and shelves could not be larger are some of these potential problems

Mesurements:

• Library size: 7.28 meters wide and 9.36 meters long (12.5 meters long if we take into consideration the length of the library and the seminar)
• 6 Rectangular tables : 0.80 meters wide and 1.30 meters long each
• 3 round tables
• 16 shelves: 0.90 meters wide and 1.80 meters high each

The height of the windows varies, there are 2 windows that are 0.95 meters high and the other two are 1.90 meter high but they have the same width: 1.80

Pictures:

round tables should be exchanged for rectangular ones

enlarge all windows for natural light

take advantage of the digital board and replace traditional blackboard by the whiteboard

space provided for the teacher

need to classify the books

need to reorganize the space

rehabilitate some material

create an easy access to the shelves
